Say goodbye to all those bad luck days out on the water where you seem to try every spot but get no bites! The Humminbird PirhanaMax series fish finder will help you locate where those elusive fish are so every day will be a great day for fishing! It is a great choice if this is your first-ever fish finder purchase. The 200/455 kHz SONAR will show you very clear and sharp echoes down to 100 feet. The PiranhaMax 176i is about as plug-and-play as you can get when it comes to fish finders! It’s easily installed and in a convenient size that fits on almost all boats from kayaks up to larger boats.

The 4 inch screen size is especially suited to small boats, and the PiranhaMax 176i’s low price and ease of use makes it a good choice for a first fish finder. Once you are comfortable with this model and can spot fish easily, you can graduate to some of the more advanced models.

Find the Fish and Keep Finding Them!

The PiranhaMax 176i has a 4 inch, 16 shade grayscale display with a resolution of 240V X 160H that will deliver crisp images. With 200 watts of power output with Dual Beam sonar, you can switch between a deeper 200 kHz beam and a clearer, but shallower 455kHz beam in a cinch! You will be able to see incredibly clear underwater images with the high-frequency 455kHz sonar. Once you have found them, mark waypoints so you know how to get to the best fishing spots next time you are out on the water. You can also see your track, view course-over-ground, and get your GPS speed reading as well.

Please note that the 176i DOES NOT have any mapping built-in, or the ability to add maps. The GPS is very basic and will just show you waypoints, your track, and GPS speed.

There’s a First for Everything:

“Remember the first time you went fishing? It was you and the water, calm, soothing, gently rippling and waving here and there – it was love at first sight. You can still hear the birds chirping, the wind blowing through the trees – but the sound that stuck the most is the first time your bobber got sucked into the water – there was a sudden “plonk,” and it struck you – “I HAVE A BITE!” Blood rushed to your head, a smile shone on your lips. This was it! Your first catch! You excitedly reel it in, and look proudly at your first catch – a beautiful fish – this is a moment you will never forget.”

“Waiting for your PiranhaMax 176i to arrive, you are edgy in your seat – you dream about reeling in fish after fish, and as it arrives, you excitedly remove it from the packaging, set it up on your boat, and take it out for a spin. Your first fish finder! You turn it on, and the sonar readings start scrolling across your screen, showing you all the fish that are there in the lake, just waiting to be caught. As you admire your first fish finder, do you know what you remember? Your first fishing trip ever! It’s that same excitement, all over again!”
